For the people Cece emails

Got an email from Cece?

Someone you're meeting uses Cece, an AI scheduling assistant, to find a time. You don't need an account, an app or a link. Just reply the way you'd reply to a person.

What Cece is

Cece is an AI assistant that schedules meetings for the person who uses it. We'll call them Alex here. Alex copied Cece on the thread, or asked it to contact you, so the two of you can agree a time.

Cece's emails say clearly that it's an AI assistant. The signature looks something like this:

Cece ยท AI assistant to Alex Chen

Each person's assistant has its own address, for example cece.alex@cece.to. Cece is always acting for that one person, under rules they set. If you're not sure whether you're talking to a person or an AI, just ask. Cece will tell you.

How to reply

Reply in your own words, from any email provider. Cece reads what you write and takes it from there. Any of these work:

The Tuesday 10am works for me.

None of those work. Anything Thursday afternoon, my time? I'm in Chicago.

Can we do a video call instead of meeting in person?

Could we do 2:30 instead of 2?

Times are shown in your time zone first, with Alex's in brackets. If Cece can't tell where you are, it will ask. Once you pick a time, Cece sends a normal calendar invite from Alex's calendar, and you can accept it as usual.

Changing or cancelling

Reply on the same thread with something like "Something came up, can we move this to next week?" or "I need to cancel, sorry." Cece offers new times or cancels the invite. You can also just decline the calendar invite.

What Cece won't do

  • It won't ask you to click a booking link or create an account.
  • It won't share what else is on Alex's calendar, only whether a time is free.
  • It won't change Alex's rules, cancel other people's meetings or agree to anything involving money or contracts. It passes those to Alex.
  • It won't add you to a mailing list. Cece only emails you about the meeting you're arranging.

Reach the person directly

Would you rather deal with Alex? Reply:

I'd like to talk to Alex directly.

Cece steps back and lets Alex know, so they can pick up the conversation themselves. You can also email Alex at their usual address, as you always could.

Stop Cece emailing you

Reply with:

Stop emailing me.

Cece confirms once, stops emailing you, and hands the conversation back to Alex. This works every time, whatever the wording around it: it doesn't depend on the AI's judgement.

Your data

To arrange the meeting, Cece keeps the thread and a few details about you on Alex's behalf, such as your name, email address and time zone. These are kept for a limited time and deleted when Alex deletes their account. See how long Cece keeps data.

To ask for your details to be removed, email admin@cece.to from the address Cece wrote to. We'll confirm the request by email, then delete or redact your details and tell the person you were meeting that they were removed at your request.

Something wrong, or an email from Cece you didn't expect? Write to admin@cece.to and we'll look into it.
